From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the vigour he applied to the horse E Brown stated that after settling back in the field his vision was impaired due to the kickback. He said for this reason near the 400 Metres he lowered his goggles but then experienced difficulty with his vision and as a result he was unable to fully test his mount. He added as THE BOOM BOX continued to run on in the Home Straight he was not able to fully test the horse as he improved close to RIDING TOGETHER over the concluding stages. Jockey Brown was reminded of his obligation to ensure that he advises the Stewards of any condition that may affect the performance of his riding duties under Rule 59(8).

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, enjoyed the easy lead to turn, kept on very well in straight and scored.

Near the 600 Metres was briefly crowded by RED MAESTRO which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that the instructions were to go forward. She said her mount jumped only fairly and then was crowded between RED MAESTRO and BABY SAKURA which shifted out, this resulted in FORTUNE LINK settling back in the field. She added after settling back in the field her mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight from that position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

M F Poon stated that his mount jumped only fairly and then was crowded between BEAUTY CRESCENT and QUANTUM LEGEND which shifted out, which resulted in EXCEED THE LIMIT settling further back than intended. He said when positioned back in the field his mount resented the kickback and also did not appreciate the "Soft” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight and near the 250 Metres shifted in and made contact with the running rail. E C W Wong stated that the instructions were to lead but his mount gave ground quickly over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Crowded start, unable to slot in, trapped wide in midfield on the outside, slightly taken back approaching 700M, found cover near 650M, 6-1/2L back turning in, made no progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 900 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid EXCEED THE LIMIT. The performance of BEAUTY CRESCENT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY CRESCENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
