On jumping was checked when crowded by SUPERB KING which shifted in abruptly. When being crossed by QUICK MONEY approaching the 1000 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid QUICK MONEY.

Moderately away from the widest draw, raced better than midfield on the outside, moved a bit closer after passing 1100M, 2nd in the middle stages, outpaced early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.

R Kingscote reported that his mount jumped only fairly when it slipped at the start. Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by ORIGIN OF FORM. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid LEGEND STAR when racing keenly.

Bumped near the 400 Metres. J Orman stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time he was instructed to go forward. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LUCKY DOCTOR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY DOCTOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
