GRUNT was trained by Mick Price with a record of 5 wins and 1 third in 12 starts, winning distance from 1400M to 1600M including 2018 Australian Guineas and Makybe Diva Stakes with Damien Oliver in the saddle. After beaten in Turnbull Stakes, he was purchased by Yulong Investments. After finished 5th in All-Star Mile that 2.9L behind MYSTIC JOURNEY, the son of O’REILLY commenced since 2019 and stationed at Yulong Stud with 4 black type contest winners including G1 George Ryder Stakes champion VEIGHT. His fee in 2024 is AUD$ 22,000.nds at Widden Stud and his fee in 2025 is AUD$ 19,800. KING CANNON was one of the participants of 2023 NZB Ready To Run Sale but finally withdrawn from the sale. He was trained by Margaret Falconer in New Zealand and took part in 4 barrier trials where he settled at rear throughout to finish 7th in a 1000M trial (13th Aug 2024) on heavy ground, slowest on the break and quickened steadily to hit the front at one stage but headed late for 2nd in a 1300M synthetic section (30th Aug 2024). On his 3rd trial in a 1200M section (15th Oct 2024), he jumped well but under restraint soon and ran on only fairly for 4th under whip on heavy ground, then always at rear for 5th in a 1200M trial (26th Nov 2024) on good going. Same sire runners in HK ran on well and could handle both turf and dirt. His dam KINGS BROOK collected 6 wins from 1100M to 1400M including the success at Moonee Valley. The brown gelding should be most suited at 1400M or upper in distance and fine at Happy Valley.
