On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by CHARMING BABE. After travelling a short distance was eased when crowded between CHARMING BABE and FORERUNNER which lay out.

Away well, raced 2 wide better than midfield, moved closer on turn, showed good response in straight, took the lead 150M, kept on well to the line, just able to hold off the challenger late.

Jumped only fairly and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 600 Metres shifted out and made contact with BLASTED TALENT. Near the 350 Metres was checked to avoid CHARMING BABE.

Bumped shortly after start, raced slightly better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 550M, a bit closer on turn, kept on well in straight to make frame.

On jumping shifted out and away from BEAUTY GLORY and made contact with KING CANNON. E Brown stated that his instructions were to hold a midfield position. He said when unable to cross HEALTHY HEALTHY in the middle stages KING OBERON was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide behind midfield, very wide turning in, finished off strongly to take 2nd, just beaten by a narrow margin.

For some distance leaving the 1000 Metres raced keenly when being crossed by BEAUTY GLORY. Shifted in near the 600 Metres and made contact with CHARMING BABE. Near the 350 Metres raced tight to the inside of KING OBERON and made contact with CHARMING BABE.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide at rear, 5 lengths or so back turning in, made no progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly. Near the 600 Metres was bumped by MARVEL AND GOLD. J Moreira reported that his mount travelled well during the early and middle stages of the event but finished the race off only fairly when asked for an effort in the omHome Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped shortly after start, raced in midfield on the inside, angled out after passing 450M, 3-1/2L back turning in, finished off evenly.

Shifted in at the start and made contact with FORZA LEADER. After travelling a short distance shifted in and made contact with FORZA LEADER. Near the 600 Metres became unbalanced when racing in restricted room between FORZA LEADER and HEALTHY HEALTHY which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Near the 350 Metres was checked when crowded between FORZA LEADER and HEALTHY HEALTHY which, after racing tight to the inside of KING OBERON (E Brown), then shifted in and away from that runner. E Brown was reprimanded and advised that he must leave comfortable racing room for runners to his inside. J Orman stated that after being obliged to check his mount near the 350 Metres it failed to finish the race off thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CHARMING BABE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
