Moderately away, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths or so back, angled out 350M, made minor progress in straight.

Bumped with CAPTAIN LINK near the 50 Metres due to both runners shifting ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped heavily at the start and became unbalanced. Prior to declaring weighed-in J Moreira and Trainer C Fownes viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against VIGOR EYE being declared the winner. When it was established that CAPTAIN LINK and VIGOR EYE bumped near the 50 Metres due to both runners shifting ground they declined to lodge a protest/objection and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. J Moreira confirmed that he was instructed to take up a forward position. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions and stated that those instructions were issued as CAPTAIN LINK had been racing in a disappointing manner when being ridden back in the field. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began awkwardly, taken back to race at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed some response early in straight, steadied approaching 100M, weakened thereafter.

Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by JOLLY COMPANION and positioned tight to the outside of VIGOR EYE which shifted out. Between the 250 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up for clear running.

Away with them, raced 3 wide with no cover, a length or so back, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter.

On jumping shifted in and became unbalanced when it made heavy contact with CAPTAIN LINK. Shortly after the start was crowded by ZHOU GONGJIN which shifted in.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide behind midfield, angled out 400M, very wide into straight, one-paced in the run home.

Began smartly from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, kept on very well in straight, won by 1-1/4L.

Blundered on jumping. After travelling a short distance was checked when crowded between YOUNG ARROW which was taken out slightly by VIGOR EYE and CAPTAIN LINK which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider after being bumped heavily at the start.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide better than midfield, bumped near 600M, 2-1/2L back turning in, finished off evenly.

Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with LUCKY XANDER. Near the 1150 Metres was steadied to avoid LUCKY XANDER when being shifted behind runners.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at tail, 8 lengths back turning in, made very good progress early in straight, no extra final 100M.

Made contact at start, positioned 3-1/2L behind the leader on rail, saved ground throughout, kept on well in straight to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.

Near the 50 Metres was steadied when crowded between LUCKY MCQUEEN which shifted in slightly and JOLLY COMPANION which shifted out and away from LEADING AGILITY. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Began only fairly, raced better than midfield on the inside, bumped near 600M, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M.

Noted to have blood in its mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Average to begin, raced 2 wide in midfield, 3 lengths or so back, angled out after passing 400M, very wide turning in, kept on same pace in straight.

On jumping was bumped by KWAI CHUNG TALENTS which shifted in. As a result ZHOU GONGJIN then shifted in and made contact with LEADING AGILITY. Apprentice P N Wong confirmed that she was instructed to take up a forward position and lead if possible. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <23/4/2026 Additional Veterinary Report> After the race, ZHOU GONGJIN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. ZHOU GONGJIN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer B Crawford this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, ZHOU GONGJIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped well from a wide draw, raced prominently on the outside, peaked on run near 400M, weakened early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.) (Lame right front leg next day morning.)

Bumped at the start. R Kingscote stated that he was instructed to take up a forward position. He added when caught wide in the early stages he elected to ease his mount in the middle stages in an attempt to obtain cover. He said when unable to obtain cover LUCKY XANDER was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
