TORONADO, a son of HIGH CHAPARRAL and the former Al Shaqab Racing runner, with a record of 6 wins and 3 seconds in 12 starts while Richard Hughes as his regular jockey, winning distance from 1300M to 1600M. He remained unbeaten when he was 2 until being ran down by DAWN APPROACH in 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes under the care of Richard Hannon Sr., but he fought back in Sussex Stakes afterwards. He landed Queen Anne Stakes for trainer Richard Hannon as a 5YO. After that, he made his move to Breeders' Cup Mile but failed. He entered stud in 2015, 46 runners of him won the black type contests and his service fee in 2025 is AUD$ 88,000. The stallion has been suspended from his duties which he suffered a significant infection, which in turn has caused him lameness. KWAI CHUNG TALENTS was sold at NZD$ 200,000 in 2024 NZB Ready To Run Sale where he finished 200M in 10.74s during the breeze up run. He was trained by Shane Crawford in New Zealand and took part in an 800M trial (1st Apr 2025) where he was the slowest to jump and ran on well up rail for a 2nd with just failed by a head on good going. His dam ENCHANTED DAWN has had 5 winning foals while she is a half-sister of former Hong Kong Classic Mile winner SWEET ORANGE. Being a grandson of WAR FRONT, KWAI CHUNG TALENTS should be most effective from 1400M to 1600M and no issue on dirt.
