L Hewitson stated that he was given the option of going forward if his mount commenced well. He said when GRACEFUL HEART jumped well he elected to go forward and race outside the lead.

Held up on the Home Turn behind NATURAL HIGH. For a short distance near the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of COUNTRY PRIDE.

Slowly away, recovered to race rear of mid-field, followed winner through on inside rail turning into home straight, no extra final 200m.

E Brown stated that the instructions were to go forward but after jumping awkwardly and losing ground at the start his mount settled further back than intended. He added that in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with the horse’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped on jumping. J Moreira stated that his intention was to hold a more forward position but despite riding his mount along it did not show sufficient pace to do so. He added that JUSTIFYING failed to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Tracked pace three wide, weakened quickly over 200m out, displayed an irregular heart rhythm.

Bumped on jumping. Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly. Near the 900 Metres shifted out when positioned close to the heels of GRACEFUL HEART. Approaching the 150 Metres K Teetan dropped his whip. K Teetan stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, COUNTRY PRIDE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
