From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance after the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving between JUBILANT WINNER and RED MAESTRO. In this incident GENEVA made contact with RED MAESTRO. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed very good response in straight, took the lead approaching 150M, kept on very well to the line, easily scored. (Lost left hind plate.)

Began only fairly, raced slightly better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared 150M but made no progress thereafter.

Shortly after the start was bumped. When being shifted to the outside of JUBILANT WINNER approaching the 350 Metres lay in and as a result proved reluctant to shift to that runner’s outside. Bumped after the 300 Metres.

Fast into stride, sent forward to take the lead, travelled well to turn, peaked and headed approaching 150M, weakened final 100M.

Near the 400 Metres made contact with JUBILANT WINNER when endeavouring to obtain clear running to the outside of EMBRACE ABERDEEN. As a result AKERMANIS GOLD had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance thereafter. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when awkwardly placed close to HAPPY INDEX.

Began only fairly, raced 2 wide behind midfield, moved a bit closer after passing 900M, 4 wide turning in, made good progress in straight to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.

Shortly after the start made contact with BEAUTY GLORY. Leaving the 1000 Metres was eased when racing tight between RED MAESTRO and AKERMANIS GOLD, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Slightly slow out and crowded, raced towards rear on the inside, angled out after passing 700M, 5 lengths back turning in, made no impression in straight.

Raced keenly in the early stages when being steadied to allow HAPPY INDEX to cross.

Taken back from gate 14, raced behind midfield on the outside, moved closer after passing 900M, 2 to 3 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter.

Raced ungenerously in the early stages when being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. After improving to the inside of VULCANUS after the 600 Metres then became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of VULCANUS which shifted in and away from DOUBLE MONEY after being taken in slightly by that runner. Near the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running to the inside of PERFECTDAY which shifted in slightly. K Teetan stated that after being steadied near the 200 Metres his mount finished the race off fairly thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Commenced well, raced better than midfield on the outside, 2 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped. Passing the 100 Metres, when giving ground, was steadied when crowded by AKERMANIS GOLD (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not clear. M Chadwick was reprimanded.

Began well, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, there to turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked 200M, weakened gradually final 100M.

Jumped only fairly and then raced tight to the inside of JUBILANT WINNER shortly after the start. Near the 650 Metres was steadied to avoid GENEVA. Approaching the 400 Metres endeavoured to improve to the outside of GRIT SPIRIT when there was not sufficient room to do so. As a result VULCANUS made contact with DOUBLE MONEY, resulting in DOUBLE MONEY becoming unbalanced. H T Mo was advised to exercise more care.

Began only fairly and made contact, raced in 3rd, saved ground throughout, kept on well early in straight, peaked 100M, ran on evenly to the line.
