Fast into stride, raced prominently on the stands' rail, hard ridden from 400M but only showed limited response, kept on same pace to the line.

Jumped only fairly. Over the final 200 Metres lay out under pressure. Over the concluding stages shifted out and made slight contact with ROMANTIC FANTASY. Sent for sampling post-race.

Contacted slightly over the concluding stages by COOL BLUE. A Badel was fined the sum of $8,000 for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 6 consecutive strides after the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, raced at rear, 7 lengths or so back in the middle stages, made good progress final 400M without threatening.

On jumping was bumped heavily on the hindquarters and became unbalanced, raced in midfield on the middle track, hard ridden approaching 350M, took the lead 150M, kept on very well to the line, won by 2 lengths.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 400 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of RATTAN GALAXY.

Bumped start, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length at 400M, peaked and headed 250M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

After being held up for clear running making the Home Turn FAMILY FORTUNE endeavoured to improve into a run between ON THE LASH and SMART TRIO near the 450 Metres when there was not sufficient room to do so. When SMART TRIO then shifted out slightly FAMILY FORTUNE was checked when disappointed for clear running between ON THE LASH and SMART TRIO. Apprentice E C W Wong was reprimanded and advised that he must ensure that there is sufficient room for him to improve when attempting runs.

Moderately away, raced behind midfield, crowded near 650M, 4 lengths or so back in the middle stages, made no impression final 400M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 450 Metres was bumped by FAMILY FORTUNE when that runner shifted out in an attempt to improve.

Out with rest, raced 2 lengths behind the leader, nearer to the middle track, hard ridden from 300M but only showed limited response, peaked 150M, weakened thereafter.

Began well from gate 13, raced behind midfield on the stands' side, made good progress final 400M to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Y L Chung stated that the horse jumped well today and as a result he was able to lead the event. He added that IRON LEGION did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, did not run out a strong 1800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Slightly slow out, raced at rear on the stands' rail, passed some tired runners final 400M.

Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 250 Metres K Teetan dropped his whip. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FURY AND GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On jumping made contact with the left side of its starting gate, raced at tail, still 8 lengths back in the middle stages, made some headway final 400M.
