Stewards' Comments
Jumped awkwardly and unbalanced, raced slightly behind midfield on the outside, 3-1/2L back, same margin back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually thereafter.
Incident Report
Approaching the 500 Metres made contact with ENCOUNTERED on a number of occasions when being shifted out to improve. Sent for sampling post-race.
Average to begin, raced 2 wide behind midfield, found rail approaching 700M, saved ground on turn, failed to close off in straight.
Incident Report
Jumped only fairly. Near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when crowded between BEAUTY ETERNAL and PACKING ANGEL which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres M Guyon dropped his right rein. Sent for sampling post-race.
Began only fairly from gate 1, raced better than midfield on rail, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (Blood in trachea.)
Incident Report
Jumped awkwardly and made heavy contact with the left side of its starting gate and lost ground. From the outside barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Away well, raced 3 wide slightly better than midfield, similar position on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
Near the 300 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
Commenced well, sent forward to take the lead, shared lead turning in, peaked and headed 300M, weakened inside final furlong. (Blood in trachea.)
Incident Report
Blundered on jumping and shortly afterwards was bumped by TALENTS AMBITION which shifted out. B Avdulla stated that the intention was to find a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to continue forward to race outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.
Taken back from gate 13, raced towards rear on the outside, there to turn, made good progress in straight to make frame, nearest on line.
Incident Report
Leaving the 300 Metres raced tight between VOYAGE SAMURAI and BEAUTY ETERNAL, both of which shifted ground.
Began well, raced 2 wide better than midfield, wider on turn, hard ridden from 300M, took the lead 100M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 50M.
Incident Report
Shifted out on jumping and was bumped. When questioned regarding his riding making the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight M L Yeung stated that after settling back in the field and with the early stages of the race being run outside of standard time he felt it was necessary to make a move from the 500 Metres to improve. He said when he was of the opinion TALENTS AMBITION was travelling well he endeavoured to obtain clear running between ENCOUNTERED and GORGEOUS WIN near the 450 Metres but when GORGEOUS WIN held its position he was held up for clear running between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres when unable to improve. He added near the 350 Metres he then steadied his mount and directed it to the outside of GORGEOUS WIN to obtain clear running. When questioned if there was an opportunity to follow the winner STUNNING PEACH into the race Jockey Yeung conceded with the Stewards that in retrospect he should have maintained his position behind that runner which would provide him with a clear run into the Home Straight. Having regard to the explanation provided and verifying that the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time Jockey Yeung was advised that whilst the Stewards were of the opinion he had made an error of judgement in attempting to improve to the outside, they found the reason he made such a decision was reasonable in the circumstances.
Made contact at start, raced 3 wide towards rear, 2 wide on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared near 200M, made some progress thereafter until blocked final 50M.
Incident Report
Approaching the 500 Metres was bumped by STUNNING PEACH on a number of occasions when STUNNING PEACH was being shifted to the outside of PACKING ANGEL to improve. K Teetan stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Taken back from a wide draw, raced 2 wide at rear, last turning in, unable to obtain clear run until approaching 150M, made good progress thereafter to be nearest on line.
Incident Report
After the race the Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse was found to have a respiratory condition which requires further assessment. <5/3/2026 19 February 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting – Race 6 (449)> A further assessment of the respiratory condition did not reveal any significant findings.
Began smartly from the widest draw, tracked leaders, 3 wide, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.
Incident Report
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, VOYAGE SAMURAI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Made contact with the left side of its starting gate on jumping, raced at rear on the inside, moved a bit closer after passing 1000M, 2 wide from 700M, no daylight early in straight, cleared 200M, closed off strongly to score.
Incident Report
Withdrawn on 16.2.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front tendon injury). Before being allowed to race again, PRAY FOR MIR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
