Shortly after the start made heavy contact with WONDER KIT due to both runners shifting ground, resulting in PERFECT GENERAL becoming unbalanced. M Guyon, rider of the 4th placegetter, was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race. In assessing the incident the Stewards took into account the margin of a neck between the 3rd and 4th placegetters and were satisfied that his riding did not affect the horse’s finishing position.

Fast into stride, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 75M, ran on evenly to take 2nd.

Over the concluding stages raced tight between KING MILES and LUCKY PLANET which shifted out.

Slowly away, raced at tail, 8 lengths back, same margin back turning in, made some progress in straight.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced 2 wide at rear, 7 lengths or so back turning in, made some progress early in straight, blocked approaching 150M, cleared 100M, finished off well to take a place.

Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, LIM’S SHAVANO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

L Ferraris stated that his mount came under pressure from the 500 Metres and was disappointing in its failure to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between LIGHTNESS OF BEING and PERFECT GENERAL which was taken in by WONDER KIT.

Out with rest, raced behind midfield on the outside, very wide turning in, failed to make any progress in straight.

Shortly after the start made heavy contact with PERFECT GENERAL due to both runners shifting ground. B Avdulla stated that from the outside barrier his instructions were to take up an on-pace position. He added that his mount came under pressure from the 600 Metres where he had some concerns with its action thereafter before it gave ground in the Home Straight. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, WONDER KIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Shortly after the start became badly unbalanced when bumped by FRIENDS OF SHAJING which shifted out slightly. H Doyle stated that after being contacted heavily shortly after the start her mount failed to travel at any stage of the event thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

As the start was effected reared and as a consequence lost considerable ground. The barrier manners of PRESTIGE SUPERIOR were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PRESTIGE SUPERIOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
