Bumped start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, travelled keenly in the early stages, found rail near 700M, saved ground on turn, made some progress in straight, no threat to the first few.

Slow to begin. Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid SNOWFIELD. Approaching the 50 Metres was shifted to the outside of THE AUSPICIOUS to continue into clear running.

Jumped awkwardly, raced 2 wide better than midfield, carried out 450M, very wide turning in, kept on same pace in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. After passing the winning post SNOWFIELD sustained an injury to the right front leg and was immediately treated by the Veterinarians. After it was determined that the injury was too severe for the horse to be saved SNOWFIELD was euthanised. Samples were taken from the horse.

H Bentley reported that his mount enjoyed a comfortable run during the race outside LIVEANDLETLIVE and did not quicken when asked for an effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced 2 wide at rear, 7 lengths or so back turning in, made some progress early in straight, blocked approaching 150M, cleared 100M, finished off well to take a place.

Bumped on jumping. H Bowman stated that from a wide barrier the connections agreed that the horse should be ridden in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said ROMANTIC THOR raced too keenly during the race and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed no response early in straight, eased final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

L Hewitson stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
