Taken back from gate 10, raced behind midfield on outer, bumped near 1200M, 5-1/2L back turning in, made no progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)

Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Near the 350 Metres made contact with BRIGHT DAY when improving into a tight run between BRIGHT DAY and NYX GLUCK. K Teetan was reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 200 Metres.

Slowly away, raced at tail throughout, never a factor.

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between GALLANT EPOCH and PACKING KING. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Clean jump, raced prominently, 2 wide, there to turn, hit the front 400M, kept on very well to the line, won comfortably.

Blundered on jumping. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between BRIGHT DAY and YOUNG HORIZON.

Bumped shortly after start, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, there to turn, made contact near 350M, unable to obtain clear run in straight.

Near the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by NYX GLUCK which shifted out to improve. Bumped near the 350 Metres.

M Chadwick reported that with the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time his mount did not appreciate being taken on by PACKING KING in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Away well, positioned 3 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on same pace in the run home.
