FERRANDO was trained by Team Rogerson in New Zealand with 8 wins, 2 seconds and 4 thirds in 27 starts, winning distance from 1000M and 1200M. He landed 1200M G3 Mr Tiz Trophy with Ryan Elliot on board and place-getters in G1 Telegraph Handicap for two occasions but no success in his South Australia attempts. He commenced stud duties since 2020 and stationed at Westbury Stud and searching for his first black type contest winner. His fee in 2025 is NZD$ 5,000. EXCELLENT BOY is the homebred of his trainer Graeme Rogerson that sold at NZD$ 60,000 in 2024 NZB Ready To Run Sale where he finished 200M in 10.62s during the breeze up run. His sire FERRANDO ran on well in sprint events while his dam PAXOS could handle further in distance. Full-sister BOLD CHOICE won at 1000M and one of his half-sister won over 1800M while former Sydney Cup winner HONOR BABE is dam family member. EXCELLENT BOY should be fine to handle sprint events and could reach up to mile.
