Shifted in shortly after the start, was bumped and became unbalanced. Approaching the 200 Metres lay in and became unbalanced when racing in restricted room between A AMERIC TE SPECSO and SUPER UNICORN. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <18/12/2025 Additional Veterinary Report> After the race, CALL ME TOPSEED was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. CALL ME TOPSEED was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K L Man this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, CALL ME TOPSEED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Shortly after the start was bumped by CALL ME TOPSEED which shifted in. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Made contact at start, took the lead, led by 3/4L, challenged by rival on turn, peaked and headed approaching 150M, weakened and eased thereafter.

On jumping was steadied when crowded between VERMILION TEMPEST and FANTASTIC FUN, both of which shifted ground.

Began well from a wide draw, raced 2 wide in midfield, moved closer after passing 750M, 3 wide turning in, showed good response in straight, took the lead 150M, peaked and headed 50M, ran on evenly.

Z Purton stated that the horse raced too keenly throughout the early and middle stages of the race and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, SOUTH STAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Away well, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader, peaked on turn, weakened final furlong.

H Bowman stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
