Made contact with the right side of its starting gate, raced prominently, difficult to settle in the early stages, made contact 900M, 2 lengths back on turn, weakened early in straight, eased final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Raced keenly in the middle stages and for some distance near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid CALL ME GLORIOUS. M F Poon was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on three occasions after the 150 Metres.

Bumped start, raced in midfield on the outside, there to turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked on run 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Near the 100 Metres was hampered when crowded between INVINCIBLE SHIELD and LADY’S CHOICE which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.

Began only fairly, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 3 to 4 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared near 250M, finished off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running and passing the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of DANCING CODE to obtain clear running.

Bumped on jumping, sent forward to race prominently, took the lead near 900M, led by a length turning in, kept on very well in straight, easily scored.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. K Teetan reported that leaving the 600 Metres his mount commenced to race fiercely and as a consequence he was obliged to check STORM RIDER when positioned close to the heels of MASTEROFMYUNIVERSE. In this incident STORM RIDER shifted out and made contact with GORGEOUS WIN.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, no clear run early in straight, made no progress thereafter.

Bumped near the 900 Metres.

Made contact at start, raced 3 wide slightly better than midfield, 2 wide on turn, angled out after passing 500M, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Quickly into stride, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, there to turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 1000 Metres shifted in and made contact with WHIZZ KID when being steadied to avoid AURORA LADY (J McDonald) which shifted in when not quite clear. J McDonald was advised to exercise more care. Bumped leaving the 600 Metres.

Bumped on jumping, raced 2 wide in midfield, difficult to settle in the early stages, found rail near 800M, 3-1/2L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Bumped start and unbalanced, taken back to race towards rear on the outside, 9 lengths or so back turning in, made some headway in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

When shifting in near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied by its rider J McDonald. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Slightly slow out, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

Jumped only fairly. After being crossed by INVINCIBLE SHIELD near the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being checked to avoid INVINCIBLE SHIELD for some distance thereafter. In this incident HORSEPOWER shifted out and made contact with MASTEROFMYUNIVERSE. M Chadwick reported that his mount refused to settle in the early and middle stages. He said after being held up for clear running in the early stages of the Home Straight he was able to commence to ride his mount along but near the 150 Metres was obliged to check HORSEPOWER to avoid AURORA LADY which was giving ground. He added after this incident HORSEPOWER finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
