Began well, raced prominently, 2 wide, took the lead 250M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 75M.

When questioned regarding the improved performance as compared to its previous two starts Trainer P C Ng stated that he attributed today’s improved performance to the horse racing at Happy Valley as it has a good record on the track and over the distance. Sent for sampling post-race.

On jumping was crowded between FAMILY KNIGHT which shifted in and DRAGON AIR FORCE which shifted out when being corrected by its rider.

Shifted out abruptly at start, sent forward to race prominently, took the lead near 900M, shared lead with rival on turn, weakened early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly.

Average to begin, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed good response in straight, took the lead 75M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Shifted out at the start, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

Jumped awkwardly, raced behind midfield on the outside early, found rail 600M, 4 lengths back turning in, made some headway in straight.

Leaving the 1200 Metres KEEN MOLLY, which was racing ungenerously, was steadied when crowded between DRAGON AIR FORCE which shifted out slightly when being steadied and VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (M Chadwick) which shifted in. M Chadwick was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. When questioned Z Purton stated that near the 600 Metres when positioned behind MIGHTY STEED he shifted out slightly when NEARLY FINE improved quickly to his outside. He said as NEARLY FINE continued forward he was then obliged to steady his mount when unable to maintain the position between MIGHTY STEED and NEARLY FINE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, raced better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked 100M, weakened gradually final 50M.

Y L Chung was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 200 Metres.

Away with them, raced better than midfield but trapped wide early, slightly taken back after passing 800M, positioned 2 wide in midfield on turn, angled out 350M, finished off strongly to take a place, nearest on line.

J Orman reported that on jumping his left foot was dislodged from his stirrup, resulting in him being placed at some disadvantage for a short distance after the start until he was able to reposition his foot into the stirrup. He added as a consequence ANOTHER ZONDA was unable to obtain a forward position behind the leaders as he had anticipated.

Jumped with them, raced 3 wide better than midfield, there to turn, made minor progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually thereafter.

Approaching the 1400 Metres was eased to avoid ANOTHER ZONDA after that runner was positioned tight to the inside of DRAGON AIR FORCE.

Jumped well, took the early lead, headed 900M, 2nd in the middle stages, shared lead on turn, peaked and headed 250M, weakened final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 750 Metres commenced to race keenly and after being steadied away from I CAN shifted out and made a forward move from that point.
