As the start was effected lowered its head, resulting in STRAIGHT TO GLORY jumping awkwardly and losing ground.

Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 150M.

After arriving at the starting gates was found to have lost its left front plate, resulting in the horse having to be reshod. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped on jumping.

Bumped on jumping. Between the 450 Metres and the 250 Metres was badly held up behind FLOWING RICHES when that runner did not improve.

Shifted out at start and made contact, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 250M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Began fairly, raced 3 wide with cover behind midfield, 5 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared 300M, made some progress thereafter.

M L Yeung stated that the only explanation he could offer for his mount’s disappointing performance was the fact that it was left racing without cover today and when it won its previous race start on 28 September 2025 it finished the race off well when it obtained cover. Trainer K H Ting concurred with the views expressed by M L Yeung and stated the intention was to find cover behind STRAIGHT TO GLORY but when that runner jumped awkwardly Jockey Yeung was unable to comply with the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, positioned 2 wide better than midfield, there to turn, unable to obtain clear run until approaching final 100M, made some progress thereafter to take a place.

Near the 300 Metres raced tight to the outside of SIGHT HERMOSO which shifted out when being checked away from FLOWING RICHES. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when racing tight to the outside of SIGHT HERMOSO.

Bumped start, tracked leaders on the outside, no cover throughout, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 100 Metres was eased when crowded between ENJOY GOLF and PRESTIGE HALL which lay in and away from GIANT BALLON.

Average to begin, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed good response in straight, took the lead approaching 100M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Began only fairly, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 lengths or so back turning in, no daylight early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, made some headway thereafter.

Proved difficult to load into the starting gates. Trainer W Y So was advised that a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of the horse. The Stewards ruled that THE PROMISE will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter before being allowed to race again. Near the 100 Metres lay out towards LITTLE MONSTER which was giving ground and as a result was steadied.

Clean jump, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/2L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed approaching 100M, ran on evenly to take 2nd.

Made contact with the right side of the starting gate on jumping. Near the 700 Metres was steadied and became unbalanced when crowded by SAME TO YOU (A Badel) which lay out as A Badel made some effort to correct his mount. A Badel was advised to exercise more care.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared after passing 250M, finished off evenly.

Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded between FLASH STAR and CALIFORNIA BLITZ which shifted in after being bumped by PRESTIGE HALL.
