Results
Raced in touch with leaders, checked 900m out, switched for clear run 350m out, stayed on steadily.
Out with rest, raced 2 wide better than midfield, there to turn, showed limited response early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.
Jumped awkwardly and bumped, took the lead, challenged by rival after passing 400M, kept on well to the line and scored.
Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear throughout, never a factor. (See Racing Incidents.)
Shifted out at start and bumped, positioned a length behind the leader, nearer to the middle track, hard ridden from 350M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually final 100M.
Moderately away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 3 wide turning in, made some progress early in straight, peaked on run 100M, ran on evenly to the line.
Taken back from a wide draw, raced 3 wide towards rear, 6 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, made good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

TORONADO, a son of HIGH CHAPARRAL and the former Al Shaqab Racing runner, with a record of 6 wins and 3 seconds in 12 starts while Richard Hughes as his regular jockey, winning distance from 1300M to 1600M. He remained unbeaten when he was 2 until being ran down by DAWN APPROACH in 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes under the care of Richard Hannon Sr., but he fought back in Sussex Stakes afterwards. He landed Queen Anne Stakes for trainer Richard Hannon as a 5YO. After that, he made his move to Breeders' Cup Mile but failed. He entered stud in 2015, 44 runners of him won the black type contests and his service fee in 2025 is AUD$ 88,000. The stallion has been suspended from his duties which he suffered a significant infection, which in turn has caused him lameness. HAPPY BOSS was sold at HKD$ 2.6 million in 2025 Hong Kong International Sale where he finished 200M in 11.45s during the breeze up run. His dam ART SERIES collected 5 wins in West Australia, winning distance from 1200M to 1600M including G3 W. A. Champion Fillies Stakes and 3rd in G2 WA Guineas with Douglas Whyte on board while her foal PIERRA ART also racing in West Australia and got his sole success at 1300M. The bay gelding should be most effective over mile or under in distance and prefer good to firm going.
