Began smartly, raced in 2nd, travelled well to turn, took the lead early in straight, kept on well to the line and scored.

C L Chau was fined the sum of $10,000 for breaching Rule 100(3)(ii)(f) in that he used his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on a number of occasions over the final 150 Metres. In assessing penalty the Stewards considered that Jockey Chau had been issued with a number of warnings during this racing season. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact shortly after start, raced 3 wide with cover slightly behind midfield, similar position on turn, made no impression in straight.

Jumped with them, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

In the early stages raced keenly when being shifted behind runners to obtain cover. SIGHT DREAMER then continued to race keenly throughout the middle stages and near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid JOYFUL TREASURE.

Out in line, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shortly after the start was eased when momentarily crowded by SIGHT DREAMER which shifted in slightly. Approaching the 700 Metres was bumped by VIVACIOUS WIN which was racing tight to the inside of GOOD LUCK WIN.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.

Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left side of its starting gate and then shortly after the start made contact with CONSPIRACY WITNESS. Near the 1200 Metres was steadied when crowded by CONSPIRACY WITNESS which was racing tight to the inside of BLAZING WUKONG (A Atzeni) which shifted in slightly. A Atzeni was reprimanded.

Shifted out at start, unable to slot in, raced slightly better than midfield on outer, 3 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped approaching the 700 Metres when racing tight. Near the 350 Metres was steadied when crowded between LUCKY SAM GOR and TIME TO FIRE which shifted out slightly. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres VIVACIOUS WIN was then held up behind JOLLY JUMPER when that runner was giving ground.

Average to begin, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, challenged by rival early in straight, headed 300M, kept on well, lost 2nd close home.

Jumped well from gate 10, raced slightly behind midfield on outer, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take 2nd, nearest finish.

Leaving the 1300 Metres was eased to avoid COLOURFUL WINNER (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in when not quite clear. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care and to ensure that she is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. She was also cautioned in respect to the acuteness upon which she shifted in. After the event H Bentley stated that after jumping awkwardly he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages, however, was caught wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
