Bumped start, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, kept on same pace in straight.

Jumped only fairly. On the Home Turn near the 350 Metres lay out and was awkwardly positioned close to the heels of SILVER KING as that runner was giving ground.

Away well, raced better than midfield on the outside, 2-1/2L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

Reared as stalls opened and missed break, raced towards rear on the inside early, 2 wide after passing 900M, very wide turning in, failed to close off in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the 1300 Metres was steadied when crowded by STAR CONTACT which was taken in by SIMPLY MAVERICK (A Atzeni) which shifted in after initially racing tight to the inside of SILVER KING. A Atzeni was reprimanded.

Bumped shortly after start, positioned slightly better than midfield on the inside, 2 lengths or so back, saved ground on turn, finished off evenly.

Taken back from gate 8, raced towards rear, 5 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, made little progress in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover until the 1000 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the event, A Hamelin stated that his mount did not appreciate racing on the Happy Valley circuit and made the turns awkwardly. He added that ACROSS DA UNIVERSE made a respiratory noise during the running of the event and gave ground over the final 500 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ACROSS DA UNIVERSE, which finished tailed out, was considered to be unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ACROSS DA UNIVERSE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
