Bumped shortly after start, sent forward to race prominently, took the lead near 800M, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner close home. (Lame right front leg next day morning.)

Jumped only fairly, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared 200M, finished off well, led close home.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear on the outside, very wide into straight, made no impression in straight.

Near the 300 Metres shifted out to improve and bumped with BIENVENUE. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away from a wide draw, raced in midfield on outer, no cover throughout, made minor progress in straight.

Leaving the 400 Metres endeavoured to improve into a narrow run between HAPPY PARK and WRITTEN CASA where there was doubtful room. A short distance later WRITTEN CASA (M Chadwick) shifted to the outside of ENJOY GOLF to obtain clear running, resulting in COUNTRY DANCER having to be checked when disappointed for clear running between HAPPY PARK and WRITTEN CASA. As the Stewards were satisfied that COUNTRY DANCER had not fully established clear running, they issued Jockey Chadwick with a severe reprimand for shifting out when not clear to do so.

Jumped well from a wide draw, took the early lead, headed near 800M, 2nd on turn, 3/4L turning in, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

Away well, raced prominently, 2 wide, allowed rival to cross near 600M, 2 lengths back turning in, angled out 350M, peaked early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was badly held up for clear running behind HAPPY PARK which was commencing to give ground.

Taken back from gate 9, raced at tail, 5 lengths or so back, same margin back turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 900 Metres was steadied away from COUNTRY DANCER. Near the 100 Metres was shifted to the outside of ENJOY GOLF to obtain clear running and over the final 100 Metres raced tight between ENJOY GOLF and COUNTRY DANCER.

Slightly slow out, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide on turn, unable to obtain clear run until final 100M, made minor progress thereafter.

Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with PRIME MORTAR. Near the 600 Metres shifted in and was steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of FORTUNE WHISKEY. Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between VIGOR ELLEEGANT and FORTUNE WHISKEY (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in after being bumped by BIENVENUE which shifted in slightly. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. As a result EXCEED THE WISH was held up for clear running between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres.

Jumped with them, raced 3 wide in midfield, wider turning in, made some progress in straight.

Incident Report
Near the 700 Metres made contact with HAPPY PARK due to both runners shifting ground. After the event C L Chau stated that he went forward as instructed but his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result weakened in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Out with rest, raced in midfield on inner, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, no clear run near 150M, weakened gradually close home.

After the event H Bowman reported that his mount came under pressure after entering the Home Straight and raced like it had reached the end of its preparation. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Away with them, raced 3 wide with cover behind midfield, travelled keenly in the early stages, steadied near 600M, very wide turning in, finished off evenly. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Near the 700 Metres made contact with VIGOR ELLEEGANT due to both runners shifting ground. After the event A Atzeni reported that his mount came under pressure on the Home Turn and gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of HAPPY PARK was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY PARK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
