Began well, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, travelled keenly after passing 800M, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M.

Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of TOP GUN to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with SUPER UNICORN, resulting in SUPERB KID becoming slightly unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, commenced move 600M, 3-1/2L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, kept on same pace to the line. (Wound to left hind leg) (See Racing Incidents.)

Passing the 1100 Metres was checked to avoid NUCLEOZOR when that runner lost ground quickly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

After the 1100 Metres shifted in and away from SUPER UNICORN and was corrected by its rider.

Clean jump, sent forward to take the lead, travelled comfortably to turn, kept on very well in straight, won by 1-1/4L.

Bumped near the 600 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from gate 9, raced towards rear on the inside, 4 to 5 lengths back turning in, made some progress in straight.

Fractious in the starting gates and jumped awkwardly, positioned 3 to 4 lengths behind the leader on rail, saved ground throughout, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter.

Near the 600 Metres shifted in and made contact with FLYING KNIGHT when racing tight to the inside of BRILLIANT EXPRESS. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON JOY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped well from a wide draw, raced prominently, 2 wide, a length back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final 300M. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping shifted out, made contact with SUPER UNICORN and became unbalanced. Leaving the 1100 Metres SUPER UNICORN shifted in and away abruptly from BRILLIANT EXPRESS and was quickly corrected by its rider M Chadwick. As a result VIEW OF THE WORLD then shifted in and away from SUPER UNICORN as VIEW OF THE VIEW was also being corrected by its rider C L Chau, resulting in THE ABSOLUTE then being badly crowded for room by VIEW OF THE WORLD and having to be checked and THE ABSOLUTE then shifting in, badly crowding NUCLEOZOR which was severely checked when it lost its running. As the Stewards were satisfied that both M Chadwick and C L Chau had made their best endeavours to prevent their mounts from shifting in no action was taken. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
