Bumped start, raced better than midfield on outer, 2 lengths or so back, there to turn, finished off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

For a short distance near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the concluding stages lay out under pressure. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced 2 wide at rear, 5 lengths or so back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, made some progress thereafter.

Near the 900 Metres was eased to avoid ENJOY GOLF (Apprentice E C W Wong) when that runner shifted in when not quite clear. A short distance later COLOURFUL WINNER was then checked to avoid ENJOY GOLF when Apprentice Wong eased the pace. Apprentice Wong was reprimanded and advised he must be sufficiently clear when shifting ground and not to reduce the pace too quickly once he obtains the lead. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, travelled keenly after passing 800M, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M.

Over the concluding stages was hampered when taken wider by STAR SATYR (Y L Chung) which shifted out. Y L Chung was advised to exercise more care.

Average to begin, positioned 2-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, checked near 700M, 2 wide from 650M, angled out early in straight, closed off well to take a place.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield, wider turning in, failed to close off in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between TOP PEAK and COSMO NAVIGATOR, both of which shifted ground.

Taken back from gate 12, raced at rear on the outside, 6 lengths or so back, very wide into straight, made some headway in the run home.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, commenced move 600M, 3-1/2L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, kept on same pace to the line. (Wound to left hind leg) (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 900 Metres was bumped by RATTAN GALAXY and taken wider.

Taken back from gate 9, raced towards rear on the inside, 4 to 5 lengths back turning in, made some progress in straight.

Slow to begin. Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid COSMO NAVIGATOR, resulting in RATTAN GALAXY shifting out and making contact with SPIRIT OF PEACE. Leaving the 250 Metres was bumped and taken wider when COSMO NAVIGATOR (H T Mo) shifted out. H T Mo was advised to exercise more care.

Fractious in the starting gates and jumped awkwardly, positioned 3 to 4 lengths behind the leader on rail, saved ground throughout, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter.

In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 850 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from RIDING TOGETHER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, TOP PEAK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped awkwardly. Leaving the 1000 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by MAX QUE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

Clean jump, sent forward to take the lead, travelled comfortably to turn, kept on very well in straight, won by 1-1/4L.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GO GENERAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Bumped start, read behind midfield on outer, 5 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, made some progress in straight. (Rider dropped whip near 250M.)

The performance of SWEET BRIAR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SWEET BRIAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded by RATTAN GALAXY (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted out. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. After the event K De Melo reported that his mount gave ground noticeably in the Home Straight and was noted to have its tongue over the bit on return to the scale. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DRALA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DRALA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
