Raced wide and without cover until near the 900 Metres. After the event A Badel confirmed that from a wide barrier his instructions were to take up a forward position.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the inside, commenced move 500M, very wide turning in, made no progress in straight.

For some distance approaching and passing the 300 Metres was held up for clear running. After the event J Orman reported that his mount lay out when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield early, dropped to midfield after entering the back straight, bumped near 450M, 3 lengths back turning in, closed off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by KASA PAPA (A Badel) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. A Badel was advised to exercise more care. After the event Z Purton could offer no explanation for the horse’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Made contact at start, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground to turn, no clear run early in straight, kept on same pace thereafter.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 300 Metres was bumped by COMET SPLENDIDO and became unbalanced. After the event L Ferraris reported that his mount did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped only fairly, raced in midfield on outer, dropped towards rear 800M, 5 lengths or so back on turn, failed to close off in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. Leaving the 300 Metres was steadied to avoid SIMPLE HEDGE (J Orman) which shifted to the outside of S J TOURBILLON to improve. J Orman was reprimanded. In this incident COMET SPLENDIDO made contact with MISSION STRIKE and became unbalanced.

Began well from gate 1, raced prominently on the inside, allowed rival to cross 1400M, 2 wide from 1100M, took the lead 600M, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 100M, weakened late.

Shifted in at start and bumped, sent forward to take the lead, found rail near 1400M, led by 3/4L in the middle stages, headed and dropped towards rear 600M, hampered near 500M, eased thereafter.

Jumped only fairly. After the event K De Melo reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during and after the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SANDMAN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SANDMAN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
