After the event A Hamelin stated that it was not his intention to be forward. He said when FORERUNNER jumped well he elected to make use of his mount in the early stages to cross runners to his inside to avoid racing wide and this resulted in FORERUNNER holding an on-pace position.

Crowded on jumping, raced in midfield on the outside, moved a bit closer turning in, made some progress early in straight, peaked 200M, ran on evenly to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when held up behind SUNNY DARLING. After the event T Marquand stated that from the inside barrier and with his mount stepping up to 1400 Metres he was asked to hold an on-pace position. He said, in his view, GALVANIC was not suited by being ridden in this manner as he was required to make use of his mount in the early stages to comply with his instructions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, a length behind the leader, easy run to turn, kept on well in straight to take a place, always just held.

Made contact with the left side of its starting gate on jumping and shortly after was then bumped by SPIRIT OF PEACE which shifted in.

Jumped with them, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, 2 wide turning in, no clear run early in straight, made minor progress thereafter.

After the event M L Yeung advised that with the horse stepping up to 1400 Metres today he was instructed to ride his mount with cover.

Shifted in abruptly at start and made contact, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 100M, weakened thereafter.
