Near the 1000 Metres was eased when being crossed by JUMBO TREASURE (K C Leung) which shifted in when not quite clear. K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.

After the event M F Poon stated that from the inside barrier he was instructed to take up an on-pace position. He said his mount is still a little immature and this was the principal reason for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well, positioned 4 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event C L Chau reported that his mount did not travel comfortably during the event and whilst the track was rated "Good to Firm”, it did not stretch out on the surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
