Made contact at start, trapped wide in midfield early, moved a bit closer after passing 1600M, 2 lengths or so back in the middle stages, peaked on run 500M, weakened final 400M.

Began smartly, sent forward to take the lead, travelled well to turn, peaked and headed 200M, weakened final 100M.

After the event, L Hewitson stated that for some distance approaching the 100 Metres SWAGGER BRO had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of DRAGON FOUR SEAS.

Began only fairly, raced 2 wide towards rear, angled out 450M, very wide turning in, made no impression in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 150 Metres was hampered and shifted to the outside of SANTORINI to continue into clear running. When questioned, R Moore stated that after shifting to the outside of SANTORINI near the 200 Metres to obtain clear running he then commenced to ride his mount along. He said near the 50 Metres ENDUED became positioned close to the heels of TELECOM POWER and when TELECOM POWER (H Bentley) shifted out slightly he became awkwardly placed close to that runner. When questioned if there was an opportunity to continue to shift to the outside of TELECOM POWER, R Moore stated that as he was concerned he would be placed in more difficulty should TELECOM POWER continue to shift out, he elected to steady and shift to that runner’s inside where he obtained clear running approaching the winning post. H Bentley was advised to exercise more care.

Crowded shortly after start, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made minor progress in straight.

Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. After the event, L Ferraris stated that after making contact with SOMETHING JONAH shortly after the start his left foot became awkwardly positioned in his stirrup. He said for this reason near the 850 Metres he was obliged to reposition his foot in his left stirrup to ensure that it was safely positioned.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide in midfield, weakened from 550M, eased early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Had its left hind plate adjusted in the holding stables, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Jumped awkwardly. Near the 900 Metres was steadied when crowded by CHAMPION METHOD (H T Mo) which shifted in when not quite clear. H T Mo was severely reprimanded. In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 800 Metres was steadied away from CHAMPION METHOD.

Away well, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 3 wide from 500M, very wide into straight, one-paced in the run home.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SANTORINI. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when ENDUED shifted to the inside of TELECOM POWER.

Began well, sat a length behind the leader on rail, there to turn, showed good response in straight took the lead 200M, kept on well to the line, just held on.

Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between ENDUED and SUPER CHARIZZARD, both of which shifted ground.

Made contact shortly after start, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, dropped towards rear from 550M, eased early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Sustained a minor abrasion to the right hind leg whilst being transported to the course. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped near the 300 Metres. Approaching the 150 Metres bumped with RIDING HIGH due to both runners shifting ground.

Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left side of its barrier and lost ground, positioned 4 to 5 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, taken wide in straight and finished off well to take a place.

Shortly after the start was bumped by DRAGON FOUR SEAS which shifted out slightly. Approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of DRAGON FOUR SEAS to obtain clear running and made contact with SANTORINI. Approaching the 150 Metres bumped with SANTORINI due to both runners shifting ground. After the event, M Chadwick stated that his mount had a comfortable run during the race but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he could offer no excuse for the horse’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <6/3/2025 Additional Veterinary Report> RIDING HIGH, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. RIDING HIGH was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, RIDING HIGH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began only fairly, positioned 3 lengths behind the leader on the inside, there to turn, finished off strongly, just beaten by a narrow margin.
