Began only fairly, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on the stands' side, no clear run until final 200M, finished off evenly.

After the event, K De Melo stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to take up a forward position but not necessarily lead. He said when PARTERRE showed good pace in the early stages he was able to cross to the lead comfortably without being unduly pressured to do so.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 100 Metres was momentarily crowded between LASERBLANCA and DASHING PAL which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.

Jumped well, positioned a length behind the leader on the stands' side, hard ridden after passing 400M, kept on well until approaching 100M, weakened gradually close home.

Near the 850 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of ISLAND BREEZES. For a short distance near the 150 Metres was held up for clear running. After the event, L Ferraris could offer no excuse for the horse not running on strongly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <3/3/2025 Additional Veterinary Report> MASTER PHOENIX, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. MASTER PHOENIX was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Eustace this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front and right hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER PHOENIX will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Made contact with the left side of its barrier on jumping, always outpaced and behind.

Bumped at the start. In the early stages raced keenly and when being crossed by HAPPY TANGO near the 900 Metres shifted in and away from that runner and bumped with LOVING VIBES. After the event, R Moore stated that after improving to the outside of HAPPY TANGO on straightening LASERBLANCA did not respond to his riding when under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. The performance of LASERBLANCA was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, LASERBLANCA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded shortly after start, raced behind midfield, kept on same pace final 400M.

Approaching the 100 Metres was eased when crowded by LASERBLANCA which shifted in and away from ISLAND BREEZES when giving ground. HAPPY TANGO then could not be fully ridden out to the finish afterwards.

Moderately away, raced better than midfield, hard ridden approaching 350M, kept on well to take a place without threatening.

Began well from gate 1, raced slightly behind midfield, nearer to the middle track, 3 to 4 lengths back at 400M, hard ridden 300M but showed no response, weakened thereafter.

Bumped on jumping and shortly after was crowded between LOVING VIBES and LASERBLANCA.

Fast into stride, tracked leaders on the stands' rail, ridden after passing 400M but not enough room, weakened gradually from 250M, inconvenienced 150M, eased final 100M.
