1MID WINTER WIND霍宏聲

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, 6 lengths or so back turning in, made some progress early in straight, peaked 100M, one-paced thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
On jumping was bumped by ANOTHER ZONDA which shifted in. Near the 100 Metres was shifted to the outside of LO PAN SPIRIT to continue into clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.

2SUNNY DA BEST潘頓

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide towards rear, angled out 500M, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made little progress in straight.

Incident Report
Near the 350 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded by YOUNG SUPERSTAR which shifted in when commencing to give ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

3LO PAN SPIRIT梁家俊

Crowded start, raced at rear, 5 to 6 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to be nearest on line.

Incident Report
Knuckled over on jumping and became unbalanced. After improving to the inside of OFFROAD MASTER near the 1000 Metres then got its head up when being steadied a short distance later when OFFROAD MASTER (M Chadwick) commenced to shift in slightly. M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care.

4LUCKY EIGHT巴米高

Away with them, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, a length back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened inside final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

5BEAUTY LIGHT巴度

Jumped with them, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, one-paced in straight.

Incident Report
Shifted out at the start and made contact with LO PAN SPIRIT, became unbalanced and lost ground.

6PACKING POWER布文

Began well, positioned 2 wide, 2 lengths or so back, 3 wide turning in, kept on same pace in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Near the 300 Metres became unbalanced when improving into a narrow run between KING MILES and ANOTHER ZONDA. In this incident, PACKING POWER made contact with ANOTHER ZONDA and then lay in for the remainder of the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on PACKING POWER at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, PACKING POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

7OFFROAD MASTER蔡明紹

Began well from a wide draw, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place, bumped close home.

Incident Report
Had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance approaching the 300 Metres.

8ANOTHER ZONDA希威森

Average to begin, positioned 2 wide, a length or so back, found rail 900M, saved ground on turn, took the lead approaching 200M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Bumped near the 300 Metres.

9KING MILES何澤堯

Began smartly from a wide draw, raced slightly better than midfield on the outside, no cover on turn, finished off evenly.

Incident Report
After the event, C Y Ho reported that his mount raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and he was not too disappointed with the horse’s performance in the circumstances. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

10YOUNG SUPERSTAR鍾易禮

Taken back from a wide draw, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide into straight, one-paced in the run home.

Incident Report
YOUNG SUPERSTAR, which was fractious in the barrier, jumped awkwardly. After the event, Y L Chung stated that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

11RIDING TOGETHER艾兆禮

Began fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, no daylight early in straight, cleared 200M, kept on well to the line, bumped close home. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Bounded on jumping and lost ground. Near the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running between OFFROAD MASTER and MID WINTER WIND which shifted in slightly.

12I P O BROS楊明綸

Jumped well from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, peaked and headed approaching 200M, weakened final 100M.

Jumped only fairly.

13RUN RUN SMART班德禮

Jumped only fairly and blundered shortly after the start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, found rail after passing 900M, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run until final 100M, finished off strongly to score by a neck.

After the event, H Bentley stated that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

14AURORA PATCH田泰安

Moderately away, raced 2 wide in midfield, similar position on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Incident Report
After the event, K Teetan stated that the intention was to hold an on-pace position. He said as a result from the outside barrier he encouraged his mount forward in the early stages to comply with his instructions. He said after travelling a short distance his mount commenced to race keenly which resulted in it racing wide and without cover outside the lead for the majority of the event where it continued to race keenly. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
