After the event, B Avdulla reported that near the 150 Metres his mount shifted out and as a result he was obliged to stop riding and straighten it. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began smartly from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 750M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 300M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Fast into stride, took the early lead, headed near 900M, allowed rival to cross approaching 750M, sat right behind the leader on turn, not enough room early in straight, ran on evenly thereafter.

At declaration time L Ferraris was erroneously declared as the rider of BRAVEHEARTS. The Stewards acceded to a request by Trainer M Newnham soon after declarations to replace Jockey Ferraris with Jockey M F Poon as Jockey Poon had been engaged to ride the horse. For this error, Mr Newnham was fined the sum of $5,000.

On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE PURSUIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off strongly to be nearest on line.

Near the 150 Metres, when giving ground, was bumped by SUPREME AGILITY which shifted out slightly. After the event, J McDonald could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ROMANTIC THOR was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, ROMANTIC THOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg. The performance of NATURAL STORM, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NATURAL STORM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
