Taken back from gate 12, raced at rear on the outside, 8 lengths back on turn, finished off very strongly, led last stride.

After the event, Trainer C H Yip advised that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position behind the expected leader YELLOWFIN. He said with the pace of the event being run slightly outside of standard time in the early stages, YOUNG BRILLIANT was able to cross to the lead and this was the principal reason for its improved performance tonight. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped shortly after start, raced behind midfield on the outside, 7 lengths back in the middle stages, made no impression in straight.

Began only fairly, raced better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 500M, finished off very strongly, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. When questioned, Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to settle her mount where comfortable. She said LESLIE began well tonight and as a result she elected to take advantage of the good start and raced in a more forward position than LESLIE’S previous race starts.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of YELLOWFIN as YELLOWFIN shifted out slightly. After the event, H Bentley advised that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, moved a bit closer along the rail on turn, made good progress early in straight, peaked on run 200M, weakened gradually close home. (See Racing Incidents)

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Began well from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two late. (Dead-heat 3rd.)

Raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of LESLIE to obtain clear running and made contact with YELLOWFIN. Approaching the 100 Metres was eased to avoid LESLIE (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted out. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care.

Made heavy contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

Bumped at the start. Approaching the 1500 Metres shifted in and away from CAPITAL LEGEND and as a result made contact with FIGHTING MACHINE. Bumped and taken wider near the 300 Metres.

Away well, raced 2 wide better than midfield, 3 wide turning in, showed limited response in straight, eased close home. (See Racing Incidents)

Jumped only fairly. Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid LUCK IS BACK. Near the 300 Metres was taken wider by JOLLY RULER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted out at start, sent forward to race prominently, 1-3/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened 250M, eased final 100M.

After the event, L Ferraris confirmed that he was instructed to hold an on-pace position but APACHE PASS was under pressure from the 400 Metres and gave ground in the Home Straight. Trainer D Eustace confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <19/12/2024 Additional Veterinary Report>After the race, APACHE PASS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. APACHE PASS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Eustace this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, APACHE PASS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began smartly from a wide draw, raced in midfield on the outside, 4 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight without threatening.

Jumped awkwardly, shifted out, made contact with YELLOWFIN and lost ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between TALENTS AMBITION and PERFECT TEAM which shifted to the outside of LUCK IS BACK when racing keenly.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced 2 wide, 6 lengths or so back, found rail near 600M, saved ground on turn, made good progress in straight, nearest finish.
