Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced and from a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Near the 150 Metres shifted out and away from FASHION LEGEND and made contact with HE WAS YOU.

Began only fairly, raced slightly better than midfield on the inside, 8 lengths back in the middle stages, moved closer on turn, angled out approaching 450M, kept on evenly in straight.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear, 14 lengths behind the leader in the middle stages, still 9 to 10 lengths back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take a place, nearest on line.

L Hewitson was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time. Shifted in at the start and was bumped and from a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shortly after the start was crowded between MEEPMEEP and SUNDAY’S SERENADE which shifted in after being bumped by BRILLIANT FIRE. After the event, M Chadwick stated that he was instructed to obtain a midfield position with cover. He said when RUN RAN RUN jumped well, he was unable to comply with his instructions and when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward where it travelled in a more forward position than instructed. Trainer W K Mo confirmed the instructions issued.

A Badel was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time. After the event, A Badel reported that his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
