Made contact at start, raced in midfield on the inside, 3 lengths or so back, commenced move after passing 450M, bumped early in straight, finished off strongly to score.

Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between FORTUNE WHISKEY and INVINCIBLE DELIGHT which shifted out after making contact with CARRYON SMILING. After the 600 Metres became unbalanced when it shifted in towards the running rail and was corrected by its rider A Atzeni. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, sent forward after passing 900M, shared lead on turn, peaked and headed 200M, weakened gradually thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Near the 1000 Metres blundered when it struck the heels of INVINCIBLE DELIGHT (B Thompson) which was racing tight to the inside of SPEEDY SMARTIE (L Hewitson). As the Stewards were satisfied that INVINCIBLE DELIGHT had maintained a three wide position to the outside of RACINGRACE, no direct action was taken, however, both Jockeys Thompson and L Hewitson were advised, wherever possible, to ensure runners to their inside have comfortable racing room. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide towards rear in the early stages, 3 wide from 800M, 5 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame without threatening. (Blood in trachea.)

On the Home Turn was held up for clear running and on straightening near the 300 Metres shifted out towards SPEEDY SMARTIE, resulting in its rider M L Yeung becoming unbalanced.

Shifted out at start and bumped, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, dropped to 3rd 650M, peaked on turn, eased early in straight.

Jumped awkwardly and shortly afterwards bumped with LIGHTNING BOLT. After the 200 Metres was shifted out a number of horses to continue into clear running.

Bumped start, raced 2 wide better than midfield, 2 lengths or so back, angled out 450M, very wide entering straight and dropped towards rear, made no impression in the run home.

Proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE WHISKEY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of SPEEDY SMARTIE which shifted in slightly.

Began well, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths or so back, moved a bit closer along the rail on turn, made good progress early in straight, peaked 100M, ran on evenly to the line. (Lame right front leg next day.)

Bumped at the start. After the event, J McDonald reported that his mount raced "flat” tonight and he could offer no excuse for the horse’s disappointing performance. Trainer C S Shum stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the event and, in his opinion, had performed similarly to its previous race starts. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, sat 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader on rail, angled out 400M, bumped early in straight, took the lead 200M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 100M.

Trainer C Fownes confirmed that from the outside barrier he had instructed H Bowman to ride the horse conservatively in the early stages.

Made contact at start, raced at tail, 6 lengths or so back on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened and eased final 100M.
