Moderately away, raced behind midfield on the inside, angled out approaching 400M, slightly hampered 350M, very wide into straight, made no impression in straight.

Making the first turn after the 1000 Metres was bumped by ROMANTIC SON. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced prominently, 3 wide, took the lead 1150M, led by a length in the middle stages, peaked early in straight, headed 200M, weakened gradually final 150M.

Lay in over the concluding stages, resulting in its rider M F Poon having to correct his mount passing the winning post. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped only fairly, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield, commenced move after passing 400M, took the lead 200M, kept on well to the line and scored. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 300 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of PRAWNS ELEVEN to continue into clear running. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when placed in restricted room between GUSTOSISIMO and EASON which shifted in.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, a length back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 150M.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced towards rear on the outside, 5 lengths back on turn, very wide into straight, finished off well to make frame without threatening.

Crowded on jumping between YOUNG EMPEROR and SOVEREIGN FUND, both of which shifted ground. After the 200 Metres was held up for clear running between GOLDEN LUCK and EASON which shifted in slightly. As a result, BEAUTY INFINITY did not obtain clear running until after the 150 Metres.

Away with them, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, commenced move 450M, made little progress early in straight, no extra final 200M.

Began well, raced better than midfield on the inside early, dropped to midfield after passing 1000M, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually close home. (Blood in trachea.)

On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced. Leaving the 1100 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by GOLDEN EMPIRE which shifted in and away from ROMANTIC SON before being corrected by its rider.

Began well from gate 1, raced prominently on the inside, took the lead 1250M, headed 1150M, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader in the middle stages, showed limited response early in straight, hampered 150M, eased thereafter.

Bumped at the start. After the event, L Ferraris reported that from an inside barrier his mount settled a little closer in the run than at its first race start. He said after being inconvenienced near the 700 Metres when PRAWNS ELEVEN shifted out, his mount, under 134 lbs, did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted in at start and made contact, raced better than midfield on the outside, no cover throughout, unable to maintain position from 500M, eased early in straight.

After the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from ROMANTIC SON. On straightening was steadied and shifted to the inside of GOLDEN LUCK to continue into clear running. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Slowly away, raced towards rear on the inside, 2 wide from 850M, angled out 350M, very wide into straight, finished off very strongly to take 2nd, nearest on line.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, saved ground on turn, made good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Was fractious whilst being transported to Happy Valley and sustained a small abrasion to the right hind leg. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Began awkwardly, raced 2 wide behind midfield, a bit closer on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Incident Report
Making the first turn was bumped. After the event, Z Purton stated that the only explanation he could offer for the horse’s performance was that ROMANTIC SON did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ROMANTIC SON was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, ROMANTIC SON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
