Approaching the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid INVINCIBLE SAGE (L Ferraris) which shifted in. L Ferraris was advised to exercise more care. After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount was unable to lead as he had intended due to the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time. He added when under pressure in the Home Straight CALIFORNIA SPANGLE finished the race off only fairly and performs best when able to dictate in front. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
