Raced keenly in the early stages and for some distance near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from HAPPY UNIVERSE. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to PEARL OF PANG’S.

Quickly into stride, showed good speed to take the lead, enjoyed the easy lead in the middle stages, kept on very well in straight and scored.

Near the 300 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. After the event, Z Purton could offer no explanation for his mount’s failure to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Approaching the 300 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between OWNERS’ PRAISE and HAPPY UNIVERSE. In this incident, YEE CHEONG RAIDER made contact with the hindquarters of OWNERS’ PRAISE. After the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of HAPPY UNIVERSE to secure clear running.

Began fairly from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. The performance of SPONGE BABE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SPONGE BABE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
