Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres and passing the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between FIGHT TIME and FASHION LEGEND (A Atzeni) which shifted out. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.

After the event, K De Melo reported that his mount over-raced when positioned outside the leader NEBRASKAN and after being bumped by LEGEND ST PAUL’S on the Home Turn failed to quicken in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Reared as stalls opened and lost many lengths, detached from the main group, finished tailed out. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped at the start. Passing the 200 Metres was bumped. After the event, A Badel reported that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, positioned 2 wide, 1-1/2L back, peaked on turn, weakened early in straight, eased final furlong.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. When caught wide and without cover near the 1000 Metres was steadied where it obtained cover behind FIGHT TIME.

Out with rest, sent forward to take the lead, 2 wide, headed near 800M, 1/2L back turning in, kept on well in straight, always held.

Slow to begin. When the tongue tie was unable to be fitted on SKY DEEP, which was having its first race start, the Stewards permitted the horse to race without that gear. A public announcement was made to this effect. The performance of SKY DEEP, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SKY DEEP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped with them, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, B Thompson reported that he was not satisfied with the horse’s action over the final 200 Metres and eased it down when not in a competitive position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MASTER STROKE, which had finished tailed out on the third consecutive occasion, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER STROKE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in two consecutive barrier trials in Hong Kong and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
