Began fairly from the widest draw, raced 3 wide with no cover, 2 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually final 100M.

Shifted out abruptly at the start and was bumped on the hindquarters. In the Home Straight lay in. A Atzeni was warned in relation to using his whip forward of the saddle on one occasion near the 100 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Average to begin, sent forward to race prominently, took the lead approaching 1200M, led by 3/4L in the middle stages, challenged by rivals turning in, peaked and headed 200M, weakened final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Slowly away, raced 2 wide at rear, 4 to 5 lengths back turning in, made minor progress in straight. (Lame right front leg next day.)

Over the concluding stages shifted in towards CIRCUIT DUFFY and was then corrected by its rider M Chadwick, resulting in CRYSTAL POWERFUL then shifting out towards CALIFORNIA DEEPLY. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Began well, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground throughout, kept on same pace in straight.

Shortly after the start was crowded between EXUBERANT which shifted out slightly and CALIFORNIA DEEPLY which shifted in before being corrected by its rider B Avdulla. When questioned, Z Purton stated that the intention was to hold a forward position if his mount was able to commence well. He said after being crowded at the start his mount was then unable to hold a forward position. He said as a consequence he allowed CIRCUIT DUFFY to take up a trailing position behind WORLD HERO in the early stages. He added in the Home Straight, under pressure, his mount raced greenly, however, was disappointed for clear running near the 200 Metres between WORLD HERO and TOP SCORER which shifted in. He said as a consequence he then was obliged to ease his mount to shift to the outside of TOP SCORER and after continuing to shift out, he was able to obtain clear running to the outside of FATAL BLOW where CIRCUIT DUFFY finished the race off reasonably well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced towards rear on the outside, moved closer 1100M, positioned slightly behind midfield in the middle stages, challenged the leader turning in, hit the front 200M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide behind midfield, angled out 450M, very wide into straight, finished off very strongly to be nearest on line, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Approaching the 100 Metres was briefly crowded by FATAL BLOW which shifted in. After the race, K Teetan could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Made contact at start, taken back to race at tail, 6 lengths back on turn, made good progress in straight without threatening.

Jumped with them, raced behind midfield on rail, 4 lengths or so back, saved ground on turn, made no progress in straight.

Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by TOP SCORER which shifted in and away from CRYSTAL POWERFUL after being taken in by that runner.

Out in line, took the early lead, headed approaching 1200M, allowed rival to cross 1000M, sat 1-1/2L behind the leader in the middle stages, kept on well in straight, always just held.

On jumping was checked when crowded between WORLD HERO and TEAM HAPPY which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HIGH PERCENTAGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
