Bumped at the start. When questioned, H Bowman stated that his mount was able to obtain a position behind the leaders in the early stages where it travelled well. He said approaching the 400 Metres he placed his mount under pressure, however, it responded only fairly to his riding and lay in from the 300 Metres when being ridden out. He added whilst INVINCIBLE SAGE gave ground over the final 200 Metres he had no issue with its action. Trainer D J Hall stated that, in his opinion INVINCIBLE SAGE had performed best on surfaces with more give and may not have appreciated today’s "Good to Firm” surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from gate 11, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 3 wide turning in, finished off evenly.

Had its right front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
