Stewards' Comments
Went forward tracking leader, pace slow middle stages, led 300M out before keeping on well to hold rivals at bay. (Trainer attributed the improved performance being up in distance and being able to race on the pace.)
Incident Report
On jumping shifted out and made contact with LOCH TAY. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer C S Shum confirmed that with a lack of pace engaged in the race he had instructed C L Chau to go forward with the option to lead if the pace was not strong. He said he attributed tonight’s performance to CALL ME MAGNIFIQUE being up in distance and being able to race on the pace, particularly with the middle stages being run outside of standard time. He further added that CALL ME MAGNIFIQUE had also derived a fitness benefit from its two previous race starts in Hong Kong. Sent for sampling post-race.
Jumped awkwardly, taken across to the fence racing at the rear 8Ls off the pace, switched away from inside midway, swung wide for home before running on well to take 2nd close home.
Incident Report

Incident Report
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind LOCH TAY. Approaching the winning post shifted out under pressure.

Sped forward crossing to the lead, slowed down the pace one in front, headed near 300M and couldn't sustain run final stages.
Incident Report
Bumped at the start.
Moved forward tracking leaders, always in touch, couldn't accelerate when the race got serious 450M, kept on same pace to the line.
Incident Report
Approaching the 400 Metres made contact with WINNING DRAGON on a number of occasions when shifting out to obtain clear running where there was not quite sufficient room to do so. H T Mo was advised to ensure that there is sufficient room when improving into runs. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when being steadied to avoid NUCLEOZOR which shifted out.
Chased leaders early before sitting back in midfield, held up for clear running 400M to 300M then ran home mildly when asked. Not ridden out late stages when held up again.
Incident Report
Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when held up behind NUCLEOZOR.

Jumped only fairly, raced keenly and refused to settle due to the pace being run outside of standard time, improved his position on outside passing 800M but was left without a finishing effort in the straight.
Incident Report
Jumped only fairly. Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Approaching the 1000 Metres was checked to avoid NOISY BOY and as a result shifted out, making contact with FAMILY JEWEL and taking that horse wider. SHAMUS STORM continued to race keenly thereafter and refused to settle and as a result was allowed to stride forward where it raced very wide and without cover thereafter. Trainer D A Hayes advised that the horse had pleased him leading into the race and he was satisfied with the position the horse had obtained in the early stages. He said SHAMUS STORM was disadvantaged by racing too keenly throughout the middle stages which left it without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. He added that SHAMUS STORM would now be spelled and dropped back in distance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
