Settled in rear of midfield, came to challenge inside the 400M and ran on well under pressure to assert authority 100M out.

Shortly after the start was bumped by SIX PACK which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race.

Settled at the back and waited with, commenced move entering home straight obtaining a clear run over 200M out, responded well under pressure but the post came too soon.

Broke well from a wide barrier to share the pace 2-wide, drifted slightly backward rounding home bend before hitting the front just inside the 400M, kicked over 1L clear 200M out only to be swamped inside final 100M.

L Ferraris was replaced by C L Chau (see General). C L Chau reported that the instructions were to go forward and obtain cover. He said when LUCKY WITH YOU jumped well he was obliged to continue forward to cross runners to his inside to avoid covering additional ground and as a result LUCKY WITH YOU settled outside the lead in the early stages.

Settled in last few after a moderate start and waited with in 8th some 6L off the pace, commenced move approaching home turn and finished off the race well inside final 150M, did best work late.

Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.

Pressed forward from a wide barrier, lost cover 3-wide one back over 1000M out, quickened to hold some chance early in straight but could only keep on at the same pace inside final 200M and swamped for a placing late.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Sent for sampling post-race.

Inconvenienced at start from the widest barrier before gradually taken back for cover, obtained cover 2-wide in 9th onto first turn dropping to last into straight, produced good late impression under pressure final 200M.

On jumping was hampered when taken wider by WINNING OVATION which shifted out. When caught wide in the early stages was steadied near the 1000 Metres to obtain cover behind SIX PACK.

Ridden forward to within 2L of pace 2-wide in 4th, travelled keenly on heels of leaders from between the 1100M and 900M, drifted slightly backward to 5th approaching final turn, kept on same pace in straight.

Ridden early to share the pace, obtained outright lead on rail 1000M out and led until headed inside the 400M, soon faded in straight.

H Bowman stated that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by LUCKY WITH YOU and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Just behind midfield early stages, gained closer to within 3L of pace in 6th rounding home bend, baulked for a run on rail the length of home straight, virtually not tested.

When questioned B Avdulla stated that from an inside barrier he was able to hold a slightly more forward position than its previous race starts. He said throughout the middle stages he followed PATCH OF THETA and he had LITTLE PARADISE positioned to his outside. He said whilst he contemplated shifting out from the 600 Metres he felt he was not in a position to do so as LITTLE PARADISE was racing slightly in advance of his mount and travelling well at that stage. He said as he did not want to follow TOMODACHI KOKOROE he remained racing behind PATCH OF THETA. He added that on entering the Home Straight when PATCH OF THETA shifted out he took the only option available to shift to the outside of PATCH OF THETA, however, became held up behind COPARTNER PRANCE near the 250 Metres when that runner commenced to give ground. He further stated that he then looked to shift to the outside of COPARTNER PRANCE leaving the 200 Metres as he was of the opinion that COPARTNER PRANCE may continue to shift in when it was giving ground, however when COPARTNER PRANCE shifted out slightly this resulted in RAGING BLIZZARD being steadied when disappointed for clear running between COPARTNER PRANCE and PATCH OF THETA and as a result RAGING BLIZZARD did not obtain clear running between the 250 Metres and the 50 Metres.

Soon recovered along the rail from a slow start, over 2L back in 5th before gaining slightly closer to pace into home straight, tightened when beaten inside the 200M.
