From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 500 Metres improved into a tight run between JOY OF SPRING and STUNNING PEACH and as a result made contact with STUNNING PEACH and became unbalanced. K Teetan stated that his mount travelled keenly in the early stages when it settled back in the field as expected. He said with the race being run at a slow pace throughout the early and middle stages NAUTICAL FORCE found it difficult to make up ground back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NAUTICAL FORCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded start, unable to slot in, trapped wide in midfield on the outside, slightly taken back approaching 700M, found cover near 650M, 6-1/2L back turning in, made no progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped on jumping. After the 500 Metres was bumped by NAUTICAL FORCE and taken wider when NAUTICAL FORCE shifted out to improve.

Shifted out at start and made contact, raced 2 wide better than midfield, difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, 2-1/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

On the Home Turn was briefly held up for clear running behind STUNNING PEACH. H Bentley reported that his mount appeared to race "flat” today and did not appreciate the "Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Made contact shortly after start, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.
