Bumped shortly after start, raced slightly better than midfield, 2-1/2L back turning in, finished off strongly to score.

Began well from gate 1, positioned 1-1/4L behind the leader on rail, easy run to turn, showed good response in straight, took the lead 150M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.

Clean jump, raced 2 wide better than midfield, a length or so back turning in, took the lead approaching 200M, peaked and headed 150M, ran on evenly to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

When questioned regarding her riding in the early stages of the Home Straight and the reason LUCRATIVE EIGHT was able to obtain clear running to her inside Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that making the Home Turn she improved to the outside of I EXCELLE but then her mount, which was having its first race start, shifted out further than she had anticipated. She said as a result LUCRATIVE EIGHT was able to obtain clear running to her inside near the 400 Metres. Apprentice Yuen was advised that whilst accepting her inexperience of riding in Hong Kong, wherever possible, she should make a greater effort to ride her mounts in a more competitive manner.

Slightly slow out, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run until final 50M, finished off evenly.

Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. J Orman was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 110 Metres.

Away well, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, kept on same pace in straight.

Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, angled out 450M, not enough room early in straight, cleared 200M, one-paced thereafter.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid THE HEIR when being shifted in behind that runner. For some distance near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when endeavouring to improve between PACKING KING and A TIME FOR US. H Bowman stated that once his mount obtained clear running it finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made good progress early in straight, no clear run approaching 150M, made no progress thereafter.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When commencing to finish the race off well was eased and shifted to the outside of LUCKY TWENTY near the 150 Meters when LUCKY TWENTY was giving ground.

Began awkwardly, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 5 lengths back turning in, made no progress in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 950 Metres got its head up when being steadied. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Made contact at start, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed approaching 200M, weakened thereafter.

After being placed in the starting gates became fractious, was removed and examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. After again being placed in the starting gates the start was delayed when the bridle on BRILLIANT WINNER was refitted. Before being allowed to race again, BRILLIANT WINNER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Jumped awkwardly. Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between PACKING KING and LUCKY TWENTY, both of which shifted ground. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
