Began fairly, raced prominently on the stands' rail, challenged the leader after passing 400M, peaked on run approaching 150M, ran on evenly to take 2nd.

Jumped only fairly. Apprentice P N Wong stated that after settling back in the field her mount hung in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted in near the 300 Metres and was bumped. H Bowman reported that his mount did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid GENERAL SMART when racing keenly. RATTAN GALAXY continued to race keenly in the middle stages. Near the 300 Metres was bumped by BEAUTY MISSILE which shifted in. As a result RATTAN GALAXY then shifted in and brushed IRON LEGION.

Away well, raced prominently, 2 away from the stands' rail, hard ridden from 350M but only showed limited response, ran on evenly to the line.

Bumped at the start. Brushed near the 300 Metres. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Y L Chung stated that he was obliged to race wide and without cover in the early stages. He said when GENERAL SMART shifted out after the 800 Metres his mount was bumped by GENERAL SMART and taken wider and did not finish the race off thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader, 2 away from the stands' rail, commenced move after passing 400M, kept on evenly to the line.

On jumping was crowded between SPEEDY TRIDENT and THE WAY WE WIN. In the middle stages raced keenly and after the 800 Metres was shifted to the outside of SPEEDY TRIDENT. Z Purton stated that his intention was to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said when GENERAL SMART jumped well and the pace of the event was only moderate he was able to hold an on-pace position without having to pressure his mount to do so. He added that GENERAL SMART was disadvantaged by IRON LEGION being positioned to his outside and as a result gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

On jumping made contact with GENERAL SMART and then shortly after blundered. M L Yeung reported that the instructions were to go forward. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as the horse had not been finishing its races off in recent starts.
