Held up for clear running from the 400 Metres until passing the 200 Metres. Over the concluding stages was unable to be ridden out to the winning post when disappointed for clear running between VICTORY SKY and AURORA PATCH.

Shifted out at start and made contact, raced 2 wide in midfield, similar position on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened approaching 200M, eased thereafter.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, similar position on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. M L Yeung pleaded guilty of a breach of Rule 100(2) in that he failed to ride YOUNG ARROW, 7th placegetter, out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. For this breach of the Rule, M L Yeung was fined the sum of $5,000.

Began smartly, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 150M, weakened gradually close home, just stayed on to take 2nd.

Slow to begin. J Orman could offer no explanation for his mount failing to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Lifted front feet on jumping and away tardily, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run in straight, eased final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

The performance of MUST GO was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MUST GO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Reared up in the barriers, got its left front leg caught over the front of the barrier for a short period of time and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Before being allowed to race again, GIANT SPIRIT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
