Began well, raced better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide on turn, finished off well, just missed out on 2nd in a photo.

J Orman explained that he was instructed to try and get a position just off the speed, however, once caught wide in the early stages he elected to take up a more forward position outside the leader.

Z Purton reported that his mount was not suited by the step-up in distance tonight as it raced too keenly due to the slower tempo mid-race and would be better suited back over the 1600 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Lifted front feet on jumping and away tardily, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run in straight, eased final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)
