Held up for clear running passing the 200 Metres and then near the 100 Metres was shifted out abruptly when a run between DIVANO and YOUNG SUPERSTAR commenced to close.

Out in line, raced 2 wide towards rear, 3 wide from 700M, 4 lengths back turning in, bumped approaching 300M, finished off well to take a place.

Held up from the 400 Metres behind HONG KONG HALL and then after passing the 300 Metres was checked and shifted out abruptly in an effort to obtain clear running and to avoid the heels of HONG KONG HALL which was commencing to give ground.

After the race, Apprentice P N Wong explained that from a wide barrier she had to make considerable use of her mount in the early stages to cross and obtain the lead. She said after this HONG KONG HALL had a tendency to over-race and subsequently failed to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted out on jumping, raced in 2nd, a length back in the middle stages, challenged the leader 500M, took the lead after passing 300M, peaked and headed 125M, ran on evenly to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)
