Jumped well from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 100M, stayed on evenly to take a place.

C L Chau stated that he was issued no specific instructions. He said when his mount jumped well and the early stages of the race were run outside of standard time he elected to take up a forward position. C L Chau was fined the sum of $20,000 in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 300 Metres.

Shortly after the start was badly crowded for room between CELTIC TIMES and WIN METHOD, both of which shifted ground. Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly, shifted out and made contact with DILBAGH when being steadied to avoid CELTIC TIMES. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped shortly after start, raced better than midfield but trapped 3 wide, travelled keenly, moved closer after passing 700M, no cover throughout, made some progress early in straight, peaked 100M, ran on evenly to the line.

Jumped only fairly, positioned a length behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, hard ridden early in straight, checked near 200M, peaked 100M, weakened thereafter.
