Slightly slow out, raced towards rear, hard ridden after passing 250M, finished off strongly to take 2nd, just beaten by a narrow margin. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Lay in near the 200 Metres when it made contact with PRESTIGE GOOD. Protest/objection (see PRESTIGE GOOD). When questioned regarding the horse racing in a more forward position H T Mo stated that from the inside barrier he was instructed to endeavour to hold a more forward position than its recent starts. He said after making use of his mount from the start WINNING WING showed more pace in the early stages than it had at its previous race starts which resulted in it holding a more forward position. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, raced prominently, took the lead 250M, kept on well, just able to hold off the challenger.

Incident Report
The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in when they observed an incident had occurred near the 200 Metres which cast doubt on whether WINNING WING (H T Mo) should be declared the winner of the race. Subsequently R Kingscote, rider of PRESTIGE GOOD, second placegetter, lodged a protest/objection against WINNING WING being declared the winner alleging interference near the 200 Metres. After considering the evidence the Stewards found that PRESTIGE GOOD became unbalanced when crowded by WINNING WING near the 200 Metres but having regard to the manner in which both horses finished the race off and where the incident occurred, they could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not occurred PRESTIGE GOOD would have finished in advance of WINNING WING and therefore the protest/objection was overruled and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. H T Mo was reprimanded and advised that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began smartly, showed good speed to take the lead, headed 500M, weakened final 300M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Jumped only fairly, raced towards rear, 3 to 4 lengths back, moved closer approaching 500M, kept on well until no extra final 100M.

Bumped at the start. Making the Home Turn ran wide when being shifted to the outside of KA YING GENERATION to improve. C Y Ho was severely reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 300 Metres.

Jumped awkwardly, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader on the middle track, peaked 300M, weakened thereafter.

Jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start was eased when racing tight to the inside of GENTLEMAN LEGACY which was taken in by EXCELLENCE VALUE.

Made contact at start, raced towards rear on the stands' side, hard ridden from 400M but showed no response, eased final 150M.

Trainer P C Ng confirmed that from a wide barrier he had instructed for the horse to be ridden in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Began well from gate 14, raced at rear on the stands' rail, failed to make any progress final 400M.

Began only fairly, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader in the middle of the track, hard ridden after passing 300M but showed no response, weakened final 200M. (Roarer.) (See Racing Incidents.)

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted in at start and made contact, raced in midfield, hard ridden after passing 400M but only showed limited response, weakened inside final furlong.

C L Chau stated that he was instructed to hold a handy position. He said in the early stages when positioned to the outside of EXCELLENCE VALUE he had expected that horse to shift to the rail to follow the leader PRESTIGE GOOD. He said when EXCELLENCE VALUE remained racing one-off his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added that with the pace of the event in the middle stages being run inside of standard time he was unable to make a forward move to avoid covering additional ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped well from gate 1, sent forward to race prominently, took the lead 500M, peaked and headed 300M, weakened final 100M.

Incident Report
Bumped at the start. A Badel reported that he was given no specific instructions and when his mount commenced well it was able to obtain an on-pace position without being pressured to do so.
